WHAT RESCUE DO YOU PARTNER WITH?

We have partnered with Catering to Cats and Dogs (C2CND) a 501c3 charitable non-profit. Animals in their care can fluctuate from 70-80 cats and 90-100 dogs, but can rise to over 100 cats and 130 dogs during kitten/puppy season! 12 of those cats reside at Mac Tabby at a time, and every time one is adopted another one will take its place! C2CND is run entirely by volunteers who dedicate their time and energy saving, transporting and caring for animals in the Charlotte area.

HOW DOES THE APPLICATION WORK?

To begin the adoption application, please complete the adoption process by clicking the application link on our website under "Our Cats". The process to adopt a cat is as follows:

Please be sure to complete your application in one sitting. Delaying completion may disrupt the submission. Check phone numbers, complete email addresses and please be sure to answer anything in the 'required' fields. Incomplete applications may not reach our rescue partner. Vet reference conducted (vet is called regarding your current or previous animals). From there, a dedicated volunteer from Catering to Cats and Dogs will review the application and contact you via email or phone to ask any questions that they may have. Once your application is approved, you will come to Mac Tabby to pick up your pet at a time and date that works for you and the rescue coordinator. You will be asked to bring a secure pet carrier and an adoption fee of $150 in a check or cash for the rescue coordinator. Credit cards are not accepted.

*Please note: applying does not guarantee that the specific kitty you're interested in will still be available when your application is complete. Applications must be approved before a cat is put "on hold" for someone. We encourage pre-approval to make the process smoother if you're ready to adopt a new family member!

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?

The fee to adopt a cat is $150. The recovery fee is to recoup the medical care needed to ensure that our kitties are as healthy as possible. All cats are spayed or neutered, up to date on shots, tested for feline leukemia, and more. If you were to provide the same medical care to a free kitty, it would cost you several times this amount. This fee goes directly to our rescue partner so they can continue to save lives!

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO HEAR SOMETHING?

Our rescue asks for a 72 hour grace period. They are all hard-working volunteers and are processing applications in the order they are received, as quickly as possible. Mac Tabby is only one of the avenues they are receiving applications, so please be patient. However, in the event you would like to check on your application after the grace period, please contact them to inquire about your status by emailing cats@c2cnd.org for further assistance. Mac Tabby employees do not make final decisions on applications, so they do not have access to application files and will not be able to assist you with your inquiry... emailing C2CND is best!

WHAT KIND OF LITTER AND FOOD DO YOU USE?

The cats at Mac Tabby are all on the same food and litter while here to keep everything consistent. You are welcome to change this at your home, and our rescue will give you great info on how to transition your new cat to different foods. To get you started, we use Purina Cat Chow (in the blue bag) and Fresh Step non-scented clumping litter.

I AM NOT FROM CHARLOTTE, CAN I ADOPT?

Catering to Cats and Dogs adopts their animals out to the Greater Charlotte Region. If you have questions regarding this, or would like to know more or inquire about your specific situation, please email cats@c2cnd.org and they will assist you!
